Lakewood Brewery

About The Brand

"As with most brewers, I fell in love with brewing’s perfect blend of art and science. So I took the leap and applied to the American Brewer’s Guild, where I was accepted and soon graduated. I cut the cord from my old career and started getting everything in place to open a production brewery on the east side of town. After a year and a half of planning, building and installing, on August 4, 2012,we sold our very first keg of beer and produced 11 different styles of beer our first year. With a quick and strong following of local beer supporters, we grew from just 3 employees to well over a dozen, expanded our capacity, and introduced our year-round and seasonal lineup in 6 and 4-packs. Here at Lakewood, we strive to create the highest quality beers by developing new and exciting styles while staying true to the art and precision of craft brewing. We handcraft small batch beers that are full of unique, exciting flavors and reflect the timelessness, creativity, and energetic fun that makes Lakewood less of a place and more of a feeling. It’s where we brewed our first beer, where my family lives today, and where Lakewood Brewing Company was born. Schol! – Wim Bens, President & Founder"

We Currently Stock:

Lakewood All Call Kolsch

Kolsch | ABV: 5

If you stop by our taproom, chances are you'll run into the law. That's because we've become a favorite all call destination for our community's finest, local police and firefighters, when they're out of uniform. Naturally, they inspired a beer fit for heroes. All Call Kölsch is refreshingly light, courageous, and serves as a summons for both new and veteran craft beer drinkers alike. It's a beer that brings people together. A portion of the proceeds of All Call benefits the Guns & Hoses Foundation of North Texas, a non-profit organization providing aid to families of fallen first responders.

Lakewood Mole Temptress

Stout | ABV: 9.1

Mole (pronounced moh-lay) is a traditional Mexican sauce made with a variety of ingredients including dried chilies and chocolate, flavors that beg to be paired with our seductive señorita. So we combine ancho, pasilla, guajillo, and chipotle peppers for spice; add 100% pure cacao; and toss in a touch of cinnamon for a bold, festive spin on our cerveza deliciosa.

Lakewood Punkel

Dunkel | ABV: 5.5

Is there a better fall treat than pumpkin pie? Nope, which is why there are so many pumpkin beers out there. But we prefer a beer that compliments a slice of pie rather than drinking a slice of pie, which is why ours is based on the classic dessert, not the gourd. Our twist: Punkel has no pumpkin. It's a dark, malty German lager enhanced by cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and ginger. Perfect for weather only Texans would consider "fall."

Lakewood Raspberry Temptress

Stout | ABV: 9.1

Love isn't just in the air. It's inside this bottle, and it tastes like chocolate and raspberries. That's because we took our decadent imperial milk stout and blend it with tart, Oregon raspberries to transform it into a luscious, Valentine's Day libation. What's not to love?

Lakewood Rock Ryder

Wheat | ABV: 4.8

Named for White Rock Lake and the cyclists who loop it, Rock Ryder is a refreshing, crowd-pleasing, session beer. But just because it's easy drinking doesn't mean it's got training wheels. With peppery notes from rye malt, a citrusy aroma and dry finish, our American Rye Wheat pulls ahead of the pack. And we're proud to donate a portion of the proceeds of Rock Ryder to For The Love of the Lake, a community organization that volunteers their time keeping our little oasis in the city sparkling. So sit back and enjoy the Ryde.

Lakewood Sin Mint Temptress

Stout | ABV: 9.1

This is our not-so-subtle homage to a sweet something that's hiding in our freezers. Harmonious flavors of fresh mint, vanilla, and a touch of graham cracker enhance the already rich chocolate profile of the beer. It's delightfully sinful, pleasurably minty, and tastes kind of like a really good cookie. We just won't say which one.

Lakewood Temptress

Milk Stout | ABV: 9.1

Va-va-voom! The Temptress is seduction in a glass. Curvy in all the right places, this Imperial Milk Stout pours with a thick, milk chocolate head. Chocolate and caramel malt give it a rich and complex body while the lower carbonation gives the beer a silky mouth feel. She’s voluptuous, with a soft alcohol warmth that grows deeper with every sip. Take your time with her and she’ll reward you.

Lakewood Till & Toil

Saison | ABV: 7.1

Whether tilling a field, toiling through the day, or simply enjoying a brunch on a shady patio, Texans know how to work up a thirst. Luckily, Till & Toil is here to help. Tropical fruit and citrus notes derived from Citra and Mosaic hops balance this thirst-quenching ale. Traditionally enjoyed by farmers after a long day laboring in the sun, saisons (French for "seasons") are the perfect reward for a hard day's work. Although to be honest, ours is a good reward for just about anything.

Lakewood Zomer Pils

Pilsner | ABV: 4.8

In summer, Belgians head to the nearest beach, while Texans typically race towards the nearest source of shade. That's because the European sun is far friendlier than the fiery ball glowing over the Lone Star State. Combat the heat with our Zomer Pils. Brewed with Belgian pilsner malt and noble hops, this traditional pilsner is light, crisp, and refreshing. So let that sun keep on burning.

Lakewood French Quarter Temptress

Stout | ABV: 9.1

You don't have to hitch a ride to N'awlins for some Crescent City flavor. Our friends at Noble Coyote Coffee Roasters age green, Fair-Trade Certified™ Peruvian Cajamarca coffee beans in recently emptied bourbon barrels for months, then roast them to perfection. We slowly infuse the beans into our beer with a touch of chicory. You'll taste rich coffee, a hint of spice, and Fat Tuesday.

Lakewood Holiday Bonus

Porter | ABV: 6.6

The holidays are a time of good will, celebration, joy, and family. But to the extra lucky, they include a nice little monetary thank you for a year's worth of hard work. And so Holiday Bonus came to be. We want to reward you with a little unique taste of the holidays from where we come from. Brewed with stocking-stuffer flavors like chocolate and orange peel, this Robust Porter is both festive and delicious. Give yourself a bonus this winter, even if your boss hasn't.

Lakewood Hop Trapp

IPA | ABV: 6.4

We're no monks, but our Belgian-style IPA gives a tip of the hat to our divine brethren. Brewed with rich malt, noble hops, Trappist yeast and a kick of coriander, this is one complex beer. Rather than make a beer that's more of a dare to drink than a pleasure, balance was the priority here. We wanted a beer for "hop heads" and novices alike. Hop Trapp pours with a refined bitter backbone, floral hoppy notes and a decidedly Belgian finish. This brew is worthy of some serious contemplation.

Lakewood Hopochondria

Session IPA | ABV: 4.6

So, you like hops. You really like hops. You dream about hops. You obsess about hops. You want to marry hops. Sounds like a classic case of Hopochondria, which is probably why you're attracted to this beer. Our session IPA is perfect for those who really dig the complexities of an IPA and want something more accessible. With five unique hop varieties, it boasts citrus, floral, and grassy notes. So go ahead and pop the top. Rest assured, it isn't all in your head.

Lakewood Lager

Lager | ABV: 4.6

Lakewood is more than a place. It's a state of mind. Old blends with new. Traditions hook up with fresh ideas. It's the same with our Lakewood Lager. We've taken old world Vienna-Style lager and reintroduced it to beer lovers. Subtle caramel aromas, a coppery pour and a light malty sweetness paired with noble hop bitterness set this beer apart. In with the old, in with the new.
